I never got a distro with 2.6 kernel to run my IDE Soundblaster card that
worked fine with 2.0, 2.2, and 2.4 kernels. Maybe it was possible but I
finally just got a PCI Soundblaster instead and that worked fine.
But otherwise, I imagine any current distro would do anything you want.
