The worst noise I've probably ever been subjected to.

You've never been to a T. Rex concert? So cacophonous, I actually
fell asleep.

I've always worn insertable foam earplugs at concerts ... they cut out the
harsh high-frequencvy stuff (including the crowd noise) and allow me to hear
the music better. Still, after a Slade concert, I was functionally deaf for
about 2 days.
