G'day mates...

An Aussie at U of M? I thought U of M imported their quota of hoons
from Long Island, Orange County, and the U.P.! :-)

Might someone be able to provide simple instructions on mounting a
second SATA drive under linux? Running Suse 10.

SATA disks appear as SCSI disks to the kernel's subsystems, so the
second disk on an all-SATA system would be /dev/sdb . So find out the
proper partition to mount (use fdisk -l if you don't know already) and
do "mount /dev/sdbN /mnt/somewhere". /mnt/somewhere must exist and must
be a directory. Once manual mounting works, edit /etc/fstab and insert
an appropriate line so that it'll get automounted or whatever. If
you're at U of M, they should have a LUG that has regular meetings and a
mailing list--check that out; you can get a lot of hands-on help there.
