Bug in crontab man page?

We are running Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update
5). In CRONTAB(5), it says:
Names can also be used for the ``month'' and ``day of week''
fields. Use the first three letters of the particular day or
month (case doesn't matter). Ranges or lists of names are not
allowed.
Ranges of names, at least for the day of the week, do in fact work. I
was playing around and set a job to run today and had the day range of
wed-sat and the job ran. Am I missing something or is the man page
wrong?
Thanks.
