Quick way to find length (in minutes/seconds) of a .WAV file

Is there a quick and easy way to find the runtime of a WAV. file?
I can grep through the output of
sox file.wav -e stat
However this is very slow if the WAV file is very large. Does anyone
know of a faster solution?
Thank you,
David
