Look in the mainboard manual or print layout for a jumper related to
cmos reset. Unhook power cord, remove battery, move jumper to reset
position and wait a minute or so (according to manual). Put it back,
reboot and presto.

Probably your BIOS has settings for wake-up events. These can include
keyb (sometimes specific key or even password), mouse movement,
Wake-on-Lan, modem activity, and power/reset button etc.

After i posted this issue and after some thoughts i did exactly what you
explained. No results so far. I think that i have a broken graphic card as
well, since monitor was going into power off mode each time i tried to boot
it after a bios reset. After resetting bios, machine should have booted even
without a graphic card (?) but it didn't happen, which leaves me with
worries that some othe piece of hardware might have died as well. Thanks for
