Hi,
I'm looking for a way to automatically download photos from my nikon
d50 when its plugged into the usb port on my Fedora Core 5 box?
I thought i'd be able to do it like this:
1. detect the device when plugged in to the usb.
2. run a script which calls up gphoto2
but im stuck on detecting the device. I have the camera set up with the
PTP connect mode and from my googling this evening I thougth I'd be
able to use UDEV as hotplug has been replaced by this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
Mike
You don't tell us what happens when you plug the camera in? Do you get any
activity, messages etc?. Have you tried setting the camera to USB mode?.
Certainly on my Mandriva 2006 box, when I plug my Nikon Coolpix in I get a
message asking if I want to download the pictures. No point in reinventing
the wheel!
