Opening Kuickshow in a given directory

Everytime I open Kuickshow, I have to select my photo directory. There must be some way to have it open showing a selected directory. I've checked all the menus, read help, Googled for about half an hour and I can't find a way to achieve this utmostly complex goal.

I've never had to search how to do this in Windows. I've used Linux for almost five years now. Is it finally possible that, despite all the hype, Linux is not where it's at?
