There is zero reason to reinstall Linux, this isn't doze.
Please get your hands on something more recent, your distro
sounds somehow a bit old.
I don't recommend suse, since it takes to much away from the user
with all those wizards. You'll hardly ever get a clue about
Linux this way, in addition there's no distro nearly as slow...
I'd suggest FC5 as compromise between ease of usage and learning
Linux. -> http://fedora.redhat.com/
Please remember to run 'yum update' as root after installing.
Following to quick instructions how to get the most out of FC5
with the least effort:

I'd strongly suggest to start over with FC 5, so you can take
advantage from recent software. It should setup things for you
automagically so you can boot both FC5 and windoze easily,
presuming it is installed already.
there is something wrong. I'm using the KDE desktop. This time a big problem
is that Kinternet is not running. It is supposed to be there when it boots.
So there is no way to connect to the internet. I don't see any way to
install it. I'd rather not reinstall again.
Then don't. Stick with Windoze. You're apparently not capable of
running Linux.
While you really take care about others entertainment, it remains
unclear how the OP ever will with that kind of help? ;-)
