Your subject line (seems) to ask for a Linux distro recommendation. Do
you want that, or do you want to know the differences between Mandriva,
Fedora, and Suse?

I'm guessing you're a newbie and from that point of view there is very
little real difference between the three. Mandriva and Suse default to
the KDE desktop and Fedora is Gnome. Other than that they all have
Firefox, Openoffice and a variety of other useful desktop apps.
Maybe if you said what you want to use Linux for (wordprocessing,
programming, image editing, etc) then you'd get a more precise answer.
I installed fedora core, ubuntu and linspire in past 1.5 years. but i
uninstalled them because i was unable to install any software such a
yahoo messenger for linux, etc. i used to open readme, and see
something like "type install -c" in the commandline" i am a power
windows user, but i absolutely don't know what those linux readme
instructions mean. Now, i am going to try linux again. anyway, i
recently read an article in about.com about top linux. i found these 3
as popular distros. i visited three offcial websites and started
downloading opensuse.
