Some people resist change - often because having to learn something new
scares them. The only reason they aren't still driving the 1956 TurdMobile
that was their first car is because the thing fell apart, and there's no
one around who can repair it any more, never mind that parts are not to
be found outside of a museum. The only reason they are using a modern
computer is that they opened some windoze virus, and the virus extracted
their credit card data and ordered a more usable replacement from Dull
or GatesWaste.
LOL..Might happen, actually there are quite a few people outside
who will order a new doze preloaded PC, once their old is
groaning under an enormous load of virus/malware. Maybe after 1-2
years or so using the web with all the shinny stuff that came
preloaded...
Questionable is they don't think there is anything wrong with it.
Indeed. I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who think it's
normal for a computer to get slower with age. (Slower relative to new
hardware, yes. Slower relative to how fast their machine was when new,
no.)
Selling all those new Windows licenses every couple of years seems
like strong economic incentive for MS to *not* fix the security flaws
that make Windows so vulnerable to malware.
