I would like to schedule a job on the last day of each month.
When I looked through the man pages for Cron, there did not appear to be any
obvious mechanism for specifying the *last day* of the month.
I don't think there is, at least for the typical cron daemons I know.
But often I'll finesse the problem by running the job on the 28th--
usually that's Close Enough For Government Work. If it's not close
enough for your work, you'll need one of the other suggestions provided.
