In comp.os.linux.misc pandi <k.pandi.k@xxxxxxxxx>:
Hello everyone,
I want to update the kernel 2.4 to 2.6 in my Redhat linux 9. I will
explained the steps below.
While in " make menuconfig".
I want to load the existing configuration that was saved in a "./config
file" when i load the kernel 2.4 previously.
Where is the file ./config located? what is the default location of the
file in Redhat Linux 9.
There are quite a bunch of steps needed to upgrade a kernel 2.4
system to kernel 2.6. You would certainly ease up things if you
simply install some recent distro. Iirc I have already pointed
this out to you a few times, it seems to me you are missing the
needed experience to bring up such an old system to recent
software versions and there is lots more then just the kernel.
In addition it would be great if you could stop multi-posting
right now. Others have already mentioned this and you still
multi-post your questions.
Good luck
