On Thursday 31 August 2006 17:14, Pawel stood up and addressed the masses
in /comp.os.linux.misc/ as follows...:
Hallo,
when I remove my ATA drive from drive case, then reboot the system,
but not comment out entry related to it in /etc/fstab, system
bootup fails when trying to access this partition.
I am using FC.5, and I have impression that my FC.3
just ignored such entry. Below there is a line from
/etc/fstab that describes my "mobile" partition.
Note, that it has "noauto" option. Have You got any
idea on how to override this problem.
LABEL=mobile /mnt/mobile_partition ext3 defaults,user,exec,noauto
1 1
Change the "1 1" to "0 0" in the line for this device in */etc/fstab* and
your system will be a lot happier. ;-)
With "1 1" - actually, it's the last "1" that matters - the kernel is trying
to check the disk for errors on boot. The first "1" (or "0") pertains
to /dump/ only.
