On Thursday 31 August 2006 19:43, lowrider stood up and addressed the masses
in /comp.os.linux.misc/ as follows...:
I know of Slax/Slackware based distros come with the ability to boot
from msdos. Are there any other flavours with this functionality? I
have a dell inspiron 2600/compaq armada e500 with bad with bad disk
controller and no cdrom. I can only boot from floppy to usb using
knoppix/slackware. I want some more options to run 2.6.x distros.
I don't know whether this is still supplied per default with most
distributions, but you should check out /LOADLIN.EXE./
_Note:_ It needs a /vfat/ filesystem and won't work from within Windows
and/or on an NTFS filesystem.
