i just reinstalled my redhat fedora. i have 2 network cards, one is set
to 192.168.0.2. this card is connected with the DLink DSL300.
when i type the modems address in a browser 192.168.0.1, a page comes
up where i can put in my login details. i click connect and i get the
connected status. i can see the downstream data, up stream, it
displayes my static ip address, DNS, howlong i am connected...
but for some reason i am not really connected. i go to another browser
window, no internet. i ping several address, no return.
Run system-config-network (Network in the preferences menu). Check your LAN card's configuration to make sure that it has an appropriate netmask and that 192.168.0.1 is set as the default gateway.
Actually you should take the static IP address off your LAN card, and set it to use DHCP, to let the router configure your LAN card parameters.
