Thanks a lot guys,

everything is sorted out. i must have had a wrong DNS server all
together, so when i changed to DHCP and left the DNS server blank, i
got the correct one from my ISP anyway.

i had all my settings written down and i even found another DNS IP
address on the net from my ISP. However, this was also not a correct
one.

Now i changed all my settings back to static IP address and everything
works.
