Copy big folder from a NTFS partition to an external HD

Hi,
I have SUSE and a NTFS partition for winxp. I want to save some
information from the NTFS partition in order to delete it. The
information I want is stored in the typical "My Documents" folder and
it is around 70GB. I want to copy this folder to an external USB 320 GB
Hard Disk which I bought today and is formatted with NTFS. Does anybody
know how to do this using Linux or free software ?
On the other hand I wonder if I should repartitionate this external HD
to have different partitions.
Thanx
.
