Anyone ever use Squirrelmail?

Hi All,
Has anyone ever used or installed Squirrelmail? When I installed my
Linux, I chose it as part of the install. The OS created 2 places
where it puts files related to Squirrelmail after completing the
install: /etc/squirrelmail & /usr/share/squirremail.
My question is: How do I configure Apache to reference those
directories?
My last install, I put a copy of Squirrelmail under one of my existing
domains so I could access it via www.domain.com/squirrelmail. But, the
directoies where the OS put Squirrelmail are outside the DocumentRoot
of Apache.....so, how do I access Squirrelmail from the outside world?
I hope I am making sense here........I would think that I'd have to
have some reference to Squirrelmail under the DocumentRoot so Apache
could see it.......
Can anyone offer some comments please?
Thanks!
.
