I just started linux.I installed yum.
If you "installed yum", chances are you're using yum on a distribution
where it's not designed to work in the first place.
But if I try to perform any operation like install,update,remove I'm
getting the following error Cannot find any conf file.eg I tried
something like this yum -y update jdk-1_5_0_09-linux-i586.rpm and I
got error "Cannot find any conf file"
Which distribution are you using, and what is the reason you're not
using the native package management system to install the jdk?
