Perhaps a different optimisation. IME with OS/2, Windows multi-tasks
much slower than OS/2, but the other side is that the rapid response
of OS/2 must mean that less processor time is available for other

I suggest you are all on the wrong track.
I smell FUD.
One should be able to reproduce this on almost any
multi boot system.
I have no multi boot systems, but I do have a Win XP machine
with Foxfire 2.0 and a SuSE 8.1 machine with Mozilla from the period.
Access to several sites ( microsoft.com, msn.com, and several others)
produce mixed results. Sometimes Win XP is quicker, sometimes SuSE
is quicker, but never by more than a second or 2. And more to the
point, findings can not
be reproduced.
