Are you sure you really want exactly that? I doubt that you do, for it
would mean that the machine would be locked until your computation is
finished. It would be like a DOS box from 1985, only without TSR's.
Probably what you really want is just a high priority for the task in
question. Look at the "nice" and "renice" commands.
