As big as what you want available as swap.
At the minimum, it should accomadate unused code/data. At the maximum it
should accomadate the maximum virtual size of all your proceses minum your
physical memory.

2gb is probably enough that you don't need any swap space at all. Just use a
1/2gb partition to hold unused code/data. It'll be dormant once your system
finishes booting up.
