There is zero reason, unless you want/need to upgrade the kernel
or need to do hardware maintenance with non hotplug able stuff.
Though a planned kernel update is a good idea and should show if
all needed caution was taken that anything comes up automatically
after reboot. This way you know the system will work on some
unexpected shutdown, after restart as planned without any manual
intervention.

At least you want to install all patches, including kernel, then
reboot and see if this improves things:

You did check for the obvious, like insufficient disk space which
might slow down your system/db pretty much, once you go beyond
90%, memory and problems:
df -h
free -m
dmesg
(post the output of the above commands if unsure)
