IMHO - it ain't gonna hurt to reboot once in a while. It is possible there
is a kernel memory leak which, over time, could chew up available memory.
Have you ever thought of doing an OS upgrade?
It will almost certainly mean a down time of a week-- or rather at least a
week before everything is back up to where it was before. The
reinstallation, the fixing of what got broken, etc.
I would strongly suggest that they get a new machine, upgrade it, migrate
the databases to it, and make sure everything is working before bringing it
online.
Uhuh. I guess you are a troll. If not, there must be something
seriously wrong with your linux system, if that is your experience of
rebooting. Instead of giving curious NG advice, you perhaps should
start to troubleshoot your own problems..
