I recently tried Knoppix on a PC equipped with a Logitech (MX3000, I think) wireless keyboard. Knoppix found it immediately and it works fine. It has a number of extra buttons (it's some sort of media keyboard and was bought because it was on sale, not for the buttons.) It uses batteries but they last a very long time. If I was starting from scratch I'd be pretty confident in Logitech but, all things being equal, I'd buy a simpler version. For desktop use, the wireless range has never seemed a problem. There are no really significant sources of noise in the room or close by.
