Even when I wait there is apt to be trouble. Often after writing the disc
in Linux there will be corruption in the directory. So I try to write it
in Windows as much as possible, and minimize writing in Linux.
Just wonder if anyone else has a problem like this, and if the trouble is
in the Gigabank drive or the USB disc driver in Linux.
After it gets corrupted I typically have to format the drive in Windows
and start over.
What kernel are you using? I had some of the same problems using the
stock kernel that comes with Debian and Slackware, and not just on one
machine. Sometimes corruption and sometimes it was so bad that on the
reboot it looked like a brand new fresh blank drive from the store.
An upgrade to 2.6.14 or higher fixed it every time.
