When I fire up minicom using my serial port ttyS0 my console

But when I go through a serial mux card I have the output shows the
following first before showing the previously mentioned output:
------------------------------------

| Initializing Modem |

Is there anyway to get rid of status message?
Startup minicom, I usually use -s.
Dropped down to the modem and dialing option and remove the
init string. I usually get rid of the reset string also but
I also use quit (Alt-A q) instead of exit (Alt-A x). I think
you'll need to save the setting as your default or startup
with the correct option to use that config file.

To add information, There will be scripts calling minicom and will be
bouncing between the serial port and the multiple mux card ports, thus
I would like to be able to call minicom in a generic manner without
having to add switches/options. The minicom man page shows all of
the options that you can add when starting minicom, but is there a
comprhensive list of the available "pu XXXXX" options that can be
added to the minirc.whatever file?
