Which seems indeed the problem in this case, procmail should be
able to handle it, though it might be easier if the OP could just
find the switch in Mailscanner back. It is still unclear to me
what we are exactly talking about. If the OP just receives the
report about some problem or the mails addressed to nonexistent
accounts?

Some lines of his logs regarding those mails and his sendmail.mc
which was actually used to generate sendmail.cf could be helpful.
