Linux for Video Gaming and Burning DVDs

Hello,
Instead of upgrading to Vista, I am seriously considering Linux. Not
even sure what version I should get.
Right now, I currently use my box for Video gaming and rendering video
to DVD.
Are games like World of Warcraft available to for Linux? Or is there
some PC emulator that can be used to run apps?
I also use Sony's DVD Architect to create DVDs (menus, chapters and
the final render) - is there a Linux equivalent for creating DVDs? If
so where would I find info like this?
Anyone else make the switch from Windows to Linux for these reasons?
If so - how it is coming along?
Many thanks for putting up with the newbie'ish questions!
