cups problem: I have a linux box, printhost, which has a

printer and print the test page. This is what I am getting:

HP HP LaserJet Series CUPS v1.1
Description:
Location:
Printer State: processing, accepting jobs.
"Unable to get printer status (client-error-forbidden)!"
Device URI: http://printerhost:631/ipp/

Why is it telling me that I cannot check the printer status? Also, I do
know that it is not printing unless I login to the printerhost and print
from there. Both machines have firewalls but the port 631:upd are open.

Do you mean the client machine is trying to talk to the printer on port 631? shurely shome mishtake..if its not a HP jet direct networked printer.

Use LPR /LPD shurely.
