Remote Control

I am new to Linux and I have a question. I just installed my Cisco
VPN client to connect to my schools vpn network. Is there a program
in Linux like "Remote Desktop Connection" in Windows? I want to be
able to remote controll the computer in my room when I am at home. I
can do this with Windows, but is there a way I can do it with Linux?
