PGP won't run under cygwin? Which runs under XP.

On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

gnupg has a windows port that runs just fine.

Hi

I am glad to report that my asinine task has been automated. Hopefully
others will benefit if I write down the steps:

a) downloaded Fetchmail and compiled it. Initially it didn't download
the email from Microsoft Exchange 2007 so I had to do these on
Microsoft Exchange Shell
Set-service msExchangePOP3 -startuptype automatic
Get-Popsettings
Set-Popsettings -loginType PlainTextLogin
Start-service -service msExchangePOP3

b)downloaded Procmail and compiled it
The following URL explains how to set up .forward file; but it didn't
work for me
http://www.professional.org/procmail/mailer.html

Fortunately the above link gives John Hardin's page

http://www.impsec.org/email-tools/procmail-on-gateway.txt

I entered everything John said into sendmail.mc and compiled it with
m4

It worked like charm!

c) then came the decryption
I downloaded the GNU GPG and compiled it
I exported the public and private keys from Windows PGP Desktop
Then imported the keys into GPG
The decryption was a piece of cake!
Here is an interesting link that explains how to do decryption from
command line and cron without prompts:

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/8732

However that didn't work for me. I had to use the --no-tty option with
gpg for cron to run

d) bingo, now I process the decrypted files and do the rest

It took me about 12 hours to do all of this. It is a great learning
experience. It is amazing to see how Linux and Unix communities have
figured out that people like me need all these great tools. BTW, I
have posted similar request to Windows server group on Usenet and
elicited the response of experts. The resounding answer is : "WE
CANNOT DO THIS CRAPPY STUFF ON WINDOWS". I think most Windows users
are content with job security. :-)

Thank you all for your kind responses. Now I can relax and let the
great Linux process all the email I get.

.
