Hi there,
I really need some help, everything I've tried, all I've found,
doesn't seem to work.
I have lost an email address which is very important to me. I really
need to contact that person asap.
I'm sure to remember that it begin with "leslie".
Is any of you out there able to run a powerful email extractor, script
or anything else that will provide me a complete list of such
addresses?
Doesn't matter how big it will be, it's really important for me. Above
all, I'm not going to spam anyone, I have no commercial purpose in
mind.
I can also reward people able to help me.
PLEASE contact me at: aka...@xxxxxxxxx
TIA
I know how you can search -your own- system, in case you have a traces
of a file laying about which still contains it. Also, if you know
said person's web page, MySpace, etc, it should be easy. But just by
scouring the Net, even with an advanced search database? You would
scour through MILLIONS of addresses.
For searching backup images, download and install Foremost.
Add this to your ~/foremost.conf:
EXTENSION n 1000 SEARCH_STRING
where extension is the extension you want the filename of possible
matches to be, and search string is what you want to find, like
"leslie", which could be
txt n 1000 leslie
then run:
foremost -o /directory/for/output image_of_disk.img
Why foremost and not a regular old search utility? This will search
through deleted files (not just Trashed) as well.
