Re: X doesn't start on boot, can't tell X to start

I uninstalled the package Avahi because I no longer needed it, using
the --nodeps tag.

When I rebooted beryl (the 3D desktop) was not running, so I enabled
it. When rebooted again I was thrown into text mode only. If I try to
start x as normal user or as su, I get the error:

-bash: startx: command not found

Do you have startx? Is it in your path?

locate startx
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/html/startx.1.html
/usr/X11R6/man/man1/startx.1x.bz2

Disabling beryl from running in the "compositing-wm" file has no
effect, still stay in text mode, no attempt of graphics loading occurs
when rebooting.

Anyone have an idea how to get my system running again?
