Hi everybody,
does anyone know how to mount at boot time the file system from an usb
pen driver?
It looks like you may need a sleep command to wait for the USB driver to
scan its bus. The "root" command can be variable, depending on the system.
This can be tweaked at boot time when using the grub loader, and its
dynamic editor, "e". For example, if you setup grub with a
kernel line which sets root=/dev/sda1, but should be root=/dev/sdb1 for
whatever reason, grub will allow manual fixup at boot.
Below, I have included a previous post. It is not strictly on topic, but
is probably still a good source for general information and understanding
the bootstrap mechanism, regardless of the device holding the root
filesystem.
