Any help will be really appreciated. Thank you in advance!

For starters, try disabling ipv6:

in firefox, about:config
network.dns.disableIPv6 --> true
network.http.pipelining --> true

Disable IPv6 for Ubuntu:

1. sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases (or use your preferred text editor)
2. Find the line: alias net-pf-10 ipv6
3. Edit this to: alias net-pf-10 off ipv6
4. Save the file.

Try running the command sudo update-modules before rebooting, then reboot.

good luck.
