Re: CUPS: Help configuring dot matrix printer

somebody <some@xxxxxxxx>:
I have a dot matrix printer that I've configured under CUPS 1.2.11
as a "Generic" type printer. This dot matrix printer is connected
to the network via an HP JetDirect print server. When I try and
print using this printer, nothing prints, and I get these errors
in the error_log:

E [03/Jul/2007:14:59:14 +0500] Unable to convert file 0 to printable
format for job 25!
I [03/Jul/2007:14:59:14 +0500] Hint: Do you have ESP Ghostscript installed?

I don't use CUPS, but ...

Description: The Ghostscript PostScript interpreter - ESP version
Ghostscript is used for PostScript preview and printing. Usually as a back-end to a
program such as ghostview, it can display postscript documents in an X11 environment.

Furthermore, it can render PostScript files as graphics to be printed on non-PostScript
printers. Supported printers include common dot-matrix, inkjet and laser models.

Package gsfonts contains a set of standard fonts for Ghostscript.

This version of gs is a fork of GNU Ghostscript with updated drivers and patches,
intended mostly for use with the Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) from Easy Software
Products (www.easysw.com). The ESP Ghostscript homepage is available at:
