Knode does not search articles by content. And it does not allow me to
delete headers e.g., like all the spam selling sport shoes on this
group.
Is there a more capable news reader I can install on my Slack 12
system?
Three suggestions:
pan <http://pan.rebelbase.com/>
claws-mail (formerly sylpheed-claws) <http://www.claws-mail.org/> xpn
<http://xpn.altervista.org/index-en.html>
These should all be capable of filtering the N-J spam with proper
configuration. I don't know if they search bodies of articles or not.
xpn may not be available from your usual Slackware sources, but it's
just a set of python scripts. You can unzip it and run it from your home
directory.
I compiled Pan and it is super. Takes a little getting used to but it does
what I want it to do. Light years ahead of Knode.
