AMD64 debian testing upgrade failed.

I have an amd64 machine which I have been using with debian testing (currently lenny) for over a year now. I have been upgrading regularly; possibly the last time was a month ago. No problems then.
Then, last night, I did apt-get update then apt-get dist-upgrade. Things downloaded, then:
Preparing to replace libc6-i386 2.5-9 (using ..../libc6-i386_2.6-2_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libc6-i386 ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6-i386_2.6-2_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib32', which is also in package lib32z1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/libc6-i386_2.6-2_amd64.deb
I can't see any reference to this problem, but the usual methods of apt-get -f install and such never get anywhere.
Anyone else see this? Any solutions? I guess I could go to sid...
