It's going to be obvious that I have no clue what I am talking
about, but if I don't ask I'll remain clueless:
How does one create a rescue USB stick from a specific kernel. I
understand that creating a rescue disk (DVD, CD, floppy) is as simple as
doing
mkrescue --iso
and then copying the resulting image to the appropriate medium. I have
the feeling that this wouldn't work with USB sticks. Why not? How does
one change the approach to get it to work for USB sticks?
I put Dawn Small Linux on a spare 512MB USB stick last night, what I had to
do was burn the ISO to a CD (used a CD-RW) and booted up using the LiveCD,
then once in the LiveCD there is an option to create a USB version.
