Yes, add an entry to your crontab:

30 0 * * * yum -y update

Check that you do not have the crap that sits in the GNOME statusbar,
running, it may prevent the cron job from running. See if you have
something like yum-updatesd (going by memory) and delete it.

That's what I do, I run yum update every night.
