Hi,
I'm using Fedora Core 5 and trying to upgrade to Fedora Core 6. I'm
following the instructions here:http://www.ioncannon.net/system-administration/99/upgrade-fc5-to-fc6-....
Unfortunately, when I get to step 3 and am logged in as root, I get
this error:
[laredotornado@remandev]~% rpm -Uhvhttp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386/os/Fed......

error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/__db.000

What does this mean? What is a "transition lock"?
Thanks, - Dave
Please disregard my post. As it turns out, I wasn't logged in as
root. - Dave
-May there is another application was using the RPM data base, So try
again? You may also try some thing like rpm --rebuilddb.
-Becarefull, You must be root to install applications using RPM, It
seems that you were a regular user when you were trying to do so.
