Next year I would like to go to University to do a BSC Conputer
Science.

However, I think my job prospects on leaving University would be
greatly enhanced if I had studied Open Source computing. A lot of
companies seem to be using it, but Universities insist on turning out
graduates who seem to only know Microsoft/Windows.

Does anyone know of a university with a degree in Open Source
Computing, or a degree which has a large element of Open Source ?

UMass/Amherst uses Linux and Solaris servers, and many/most desktops run
Linux -- I should know, I installed and managed a pile of linux machines
while I worked there. I believe MIT uses Linux servers and desktops.

If I make my choice, what Open Source type modules should you think I
should be looking for. Obviously operating systems (linux, of
course), but what else ?

Your suggestions and guidance would be appreciated.

Apologies, I should have made it clear I am in the UK - and looking to
study here.

However, suggestions as to what types of modules I should be looking
for are welcome from group members everywhere.

What else should I be considering apart from Operating Systems ?

Thanks for the support
