NOW Ive intstalled all the latest drivers, but the CUPS/webmin stuff does not present me with a USB option, just a load of serial and parallel ports?

Anyone know the magic spell?

Try setting it up as a network printer but with usb:// as the URL.

NB the printer is not plugged in at this point..

Why not?

err..its 60 miles away along with the server.

Behind a firewall with not QUITE enough holes punched through..and it may not have been totally delivered there yet, and the guys will try it out on Windows first..I just wanted to see if it COULD be set up mostly before I phone up and ask them to waste an hour fiddling with cables and stuff.

BTW how does one access a windows printer attached to a windows machine/sahre via CUPS?.
