and also, how easy is it to upgrade debian to the next release.
Usually reasonably easy - at best, edit /etc/apt/sources.list to point at the
new stable release, then
# aptitude update
# aptitude dist-upgrade
Usually, there's a bit more between the update and the dist-upgrade; what to
do (and why) is detailed in the release notes.
