Hi,
I'm using Jboss 4.0.5.GA on a RED Hat 4 (kernel 2.6.9-55.Elmsp) server
with 4 cpu's. The Java version is 1.5.0_12-b04. My question is how can
I tell if the Java app is using more than 1 cpu? I have been browsing
through the web but i've not find an answer. Thanks in advance.
ps and top will show this information (given the right options or
commands).
man ps
man top
I suspect that Jboss does not do anything special for SMP. It just
starts processes or threads and the SMP kernel schedules the processes &
threads to run on whatever processors are available.
kind regards,
Ivan
htop is a good extension of top, and will show you what the threads are
doing.
