Do you ever test what you are posting?
You are correct, I misinterpreted the output from a simple test that I,
without testing further, expanded into the final result (i.e. using 'echo $i'
instead of 'cp $i ~/temp').
Hi Steve,
I'm glad we agree.
Please don't take this personally. You just happened to be one of the
guys that attracted my attention. I'm mostly lurking on this group,
posting -in average- once in a few days. I was a few days behind when
reading this thread. And looking over the whole thread I could only
conclude that most of the reactions where plain wrong at first sight.
I felt I should respond, and you happened to be one of the most recent
posters....
Again, it's not personally. I just want to draw everybody's attention
to the fact that your postings will be stored, at several places, for
looong times. If just everybody would think about each posting and
_test_ what he/she is stating, then this newsgroup would be a better
place to hang around. The archives of this newsgroup would be better,
and your personal scores would be better if someone in the future
hits your posting through a search engine.
Regards,
Kees
