I've just read an article about how Ubuntu would drop the support for KDE
from their 8.04 long term support release due to the advent of KDE4 and
how, after that release, Ubuntu would focus mainly on the KDE4 series.
That decision worries me a bit, as it sounds like an announcement about
pulling the plug on KDE3. Evolution and progress is all fine and dandy but
the thing is, at least to my personal taste, KDE4 is too many miles behind
KDE3. KDE4 just cannot be compared with the KDE 3.5 series in terms of
visual appeal and GUI polish, let alone stability.
So, what will happen to the KDE3 series? Will we all see a downgrade in
terms of the desktop environment offerings for linux?
Are you SURE you've actually seen KDE4? It's a major step forward and will
quickly replace KDE3. KDE4 screenshots have been breath taking and makes
KDE3 quite pale in comparison.
Before you go around asking stupid questions, you really should do some
serious research. What you just presented above, is pretty much baseless
and quite possibly a poor attempt at trolling....
