I've fiddled with MCN-Live and Knoppix v5.1.1 and ubuntu 7.10,
often leading to re-installs. There's a magic moment where grub gets
installed on it, and if that little bit is configged wrong, you're
writing the boot record to the wrong place (hosing your hd install).
Unplug the hard drives, maybe?
Add in *buntu's tendency (still?) to clobber existing grubs, and it is
a little chaotic.
Time after time, I'm sure I've got it right and ... where's my
netinst? So far, a three pipe problem here. I know this can work.
My hardware is the problem maybe?!? Grrr ...
